Above-1993. Me and my friend Jossie hiking down to a cove near La Bufadora. Below-1994. Mision Santo Domingo. This was my first backroad Baja adventure. Driving through water for the first time was so exciting I did it twice. When we got to the end we asked some people where the Mision was. They pointed to the mounds behind us. |

1995. In March I went to Scammons Lagoon to see the whales up close. Unfortunately, according to fishermen, the last Gray had left the day before. On the way back to San Diego I noticed an offroad going through Laguna Chapala to San Felipe. I had friends in the border town of Calexico. It took about two hours of total isolation, except for the occasional cow, before I reached the Sea of Cortez. What a beautiful sight. Along the way I saw many vehicles either burned out or stripped. It occurred to me that if my car broke down here I would have to leave it to the same fate. |

1995. I was finishing my research paper for my Masters at San Diego State University. Jamael and Riley waited patiently (not really) until I finished, then we went off to Rosarito Beach and Ensenada. Riley doesn't like fish but he loves tamales. Back to My Adventures |
